Conflict of Interest
Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis Eka Prasetya (MBEP) is committed to maintaining integrity, objectivity, transparency, and independence throughout the entire scholarly publication process. Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and journal management, are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence, or be perceived to influence, the objectivity of research, the peer-review process, or editorial decisions.
1. Definition of Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest is a situation in which personal, financial, professional, academic, or other relationships may potentially influence objective judgment and decision-making in the research and scholarly publication process.
A conflict of interest does not necessarily indicate an ethical violation. However, all potential conflicts must be disclosed transparently so that they can be appropriately evaluated and managed.
2. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest related to their research and manuscripts submitted to Jurnal MBEP. Such conflicts may include financial relationships, institutional affiliations, personal relationships, professional collaborations, business interests, or other circumstances that could potentially influence research findings or the interpretation of results.
Authors are also required to disclose the sources of research funding and the role of the funding bodies in research design, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and the decision to publish the research findings.
If no conflict of interest exists, authors must explicitly state that there are no conflicts of interest to disclose.
3. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors of Jurnal MBEP are required to maintain independence and objectivity when evaluating submitted manuscripts. Editorial decisions must be based on scientific quality, originality, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, and the results of the scholarly peer-review process.
Editors who have a conflict of interest concerning a manuscript, whether arising from personal, professional, institutional, or financial relationships, or involvement in the research, must disclose the conflict and refrain from handling the relevant editorial process. The manuscript must subsequently be assigned to another independent editor.
4. Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers
Peer reviewers are required to evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, independently, and professionally. Reviewers must disclose to the editor any relationships or interests that could compromise the independence of their assessment of a manuscript.
Reviewers must not evaluate manuscripts when a conflict of interest could compromise their objectivity. In such circumstances, reviewers must notify the editor and withdraw from the review process for the manuscript concerned.
5. Management of Conflicts of Interest
Any disclosed conflict of interest will be evaluated by the editor or the authorized journal management personnel. Where necessary, the journal may take the following measures:
1. Request additional explanations or information from the relevant parties.
2. Transfer the peer-review process or editorial decision-making to an independent party.
3. Request a more comprehensive conflict-of-interest statement for inclusion in the published article.
4. Postpone the editorial process until the conflict of interest has been adequately evaluated and managed.
5. Take appropriate editorial action in accordance with publication ethics policies if undisclosed information or relevant ethical violations are identified.
6. Conflict-of-Interest Statement in Published Articles
Jurnal MBEP encourages the inclusion of a conflict-of-interest statement in every published article. This statement aims to provide readers with adequate information about any interests that may be related to the research.
If no conflict of interest exists, the following statement may be used:
*Conflict of Interest Statement:* The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest that could have influenced the conduct of the research, the interpretation of the findings, or the publication of this article.
If a conflict of interest exists, authors must transparently describe the nature of the conflict in accordance with the actual circumstances.
7. Commitment to Publication Ethics
Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis Eka Prasetya is committed to addressing all potential conflicts of interest fairly, transparently, and responsibly to maintain the trust of readers, authors, peer reviewers, and the academic community. All parties involved in the publication process are expected to uphold academic integrity and ensure that publication decisions are based on objective scientific considerations
