Corrections and Retractions
Corrections and Retractions
Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis Eka Prasetya (MBEP) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, transparency, and reliability of all published scholarly articles. The journal recognizes that errors or concerns relating to research integrity may be identified after an article has been published. Therefore, Jurnal MBEP implements a corrections and retractions policy to ensure that the scholarly record remains accurate and accountable.
This policy applies to all articles published in Jurnal MBEP and is implemented by the editorial team, taking into consideration the nature of the issue, its impact on research validity, and the principles of scholarly publication ethics.
1. Article Corrections
A correction is issued when an error is identified in a published article and requires an official amendment. Such errors may include typographical mistakes, bibliographic information, author affiliations, tables, figures, data, or other information requiring clarification.
Requests for corrections may be submitted by authors, readers, reviewers, or other parties with relevant information. Each request will be evaluated by the editor to determine whether a correction is necessary and how it should be published.
If a correction is approved, Jurnal MBEP will publish a correction notice explaining the section of the article that has been amended and providing the correct information. The notice will be linked to the original article so that readers can identify the changes made.
Administrative or technical errors that do not affect the substance of the research may be corrected in accordance with editorial procedures. However, all changes must be made transparently without removing the record of the original publication.
2. Article Retractions
An article may be retracted when serious problems are identified that render its findings or conclusions unreliable, or when the publication is found to have substantially violated the principles of publication ethics.
Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
1. Fabrication or falsification of research data.
2. Plagiarism or serious copyright infringement.
3. Fundamental errors that invalidate the research findings or conclusions.
4. Duplicate publication or redundant publication in violation of the journal's policies.
5. Serious violations of research ethics or publication ethics.
6. Manipulation of the peer-review process or other forms of publication misconduct.
A retraction decision will be made after the editor has examined the available evidence and, where necessary, requested clarification from the authors and relevant parties. Authors will be given a reasonable opportunity to provide an explanation. However, if the available evidence demonstrates that retraction is necessary to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record, a decision may be made in accordance with the applicable editorial procedures.
3. Procedures for Corrections and Retractions
Jurnal MBEP follows the procedures below when addressing suspected errors or misconduct in published articles:
1. *Receipt of a report:* The editor receives a report or information concerning errors, inaccuracies, or suspected ethical violations in a published article.
2. *Initial assessment:* The editor assesses the relevance of the report and determines whether further investigation is necessary.
3. *Information gathering:* The editor may request supporting evidence, clarification from the authors, opinions from independent experts, or information from relevant institutions, where necessary.
4. *Determination of action:* Based on the investigation findings, the editor determines the appropriate and proportionate action, such as issuing a correction, an Expression of Concern, or a retraction.
5. *Publication of a notice:* When an official action is required, the journal publishes a notice explaining the reasons for and scope of the action.
6. *Updating the publication record:* The article and its associated notices are managed transparently so that readers can identify the current status of the article concerned.
Investigations are conducted objectively and fairly, while maintaining the confidentiality of information that requires protection. The journal strives to resolve each case promptly, taking into account the complexity of the matter.
4. Expression of Concern
When serious concerns arise regarding a published article but the available evidence is insufficient to reach a final decision, Jurnal MBEP may publish an Expression of Concern.
This notice informs readers that the article is under investigation or that certain issues require attention. The status may be reviewed once the investigation has been completed and further action has been determined based on the available evidence.
5. Transparency and Access to Notices
Every correction notice, Expression of Concern, or retraction notice must adequately explain the reasons for the action and be linked to the relevant article. Where possible, the notice will be assigned its own digital identifier or DOI and retained as part of the journal's publication record.
Retracted articles should not simply be removed from the journal's archives. They will remain accessible for transparency and scholarly record-keeping purposes, with clear labeling indicating that the article has been retracted and a link to the official retraction notice.
6. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the articles they submit for publication. If authors discover a material error in a published article, they are expected to promptly contact the editor of Jurnal MBEP and provide the information necessary for evaluation and correction.
Authors are also expected to cooperate with investigations into suspected ethical violations, provide truthful explanations, and submit supporting data or documentation when reasonably requested by the editor.
7. Journal Commitment
Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis Eka Prasetya is committed to handling all correction requests and suspected publication misconduct independently, fairly, transparently, and responsibly. All decisions will take into account the available evidence, the impact on research validity, the interests of readers, and relevant scholarly publication ethics guidelines.
Through this policy, Jurnal MBEP seeks to maintain the trust of the academic community and ensure that the scholarly publication record remains a reliable source of knowledge and a reference for future research.
